The best taco seasoning is the one you make yourself! This taco seasoning may use simple ingredients but the flavor is the best around!
Making homemade seasoning blends is easier than you think! It’s perfect because you can control the ingredients and customize it to you own preferences.
I love to make up a big batch of this Easy Taco Seasoning and use it for everything from tacos to grilled mushrooms to veggies!
Individual Seasonings You’ll Need:
As always, check the individual ingredients for gluten to ensure your safety! McCormick brand spices is good about clearly labeling their products, so that may be a good place to start!
- chili powder
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- kosher salt
- cumin
- oregano
- paprika
- pepper
To make homemade taco seasoning:
Simply mix all seasonings together and store in an airtight container.
I love these spice containers from Amazon, but any old jar will do as long as it’s clean, dry and has an airtight lid.
Because these don’t have additional anti-caking agents like other spices blends, they won’t keep for months on end. I like to make up an amount that I’ll use in a month or two. They are so easy to make that it’s easy to throw together some more for next time.
Whenever I share this recipe with friends or family it quickly becomes their favorite as well!
To use this taco seasoning:
To substitute this taco seasoning for packaged, I use 2 tablespoons. Otherwise follow the recipe as written.
Use this in any recipe you’d use taco seasoning.
It’s also delicious on grilled meats and veggies!
