Ingredients You’ll Need To Make Pumpkin Chili:
- olive oil
- ground turkey
- carrots
- jarred minced garlic
- onion
- chili seasoning
- chipotle chili powder
- crushed tomatoes
- canned pumpkin *
- butternut squash
- chicken broth
*Be sure to use pure canned pumpkin NOT pumpkin pie filling
How To Make Pumpkin Chili…
- Preheat grill to 400 degrees
- Using large dutch oven heat oil and then add ground turkey, breaking apart and browning
- Once meat is about halfway cooked add carrot, garlic and onion and saute for 2-3 minutes
- Add seasonings and stir into meat
- Add tomatoes, pumpkin, butternut squash and broth
- Simmer for 20 minutes or until veggies are softened, stirring occasionally
Pro Tips:
You can also make Pumpkin Chili on the stove top instead of the grill. Just cook in a large pot over medium high heat.
If you don’t like spicy food, simply reduce or omit the chipotle chili powder. Your chili will still be tasty!
Make sure to choose pure canned pumpkin and not pumpkin pie filling. Pumpkin pie filing contains all of the spices necessary to make fall desserts taste so yummy.
Save yourself precious time! Buy your butternut squash pre-cut at most grocery stores in the produce section.
If you prefer a meatier flavor, you can substitute ground beef or bison for turkey.

- 1/2 cup finely diced carrots
- 1 teaspoon jarred minced garlic
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 2 tablespoons chili seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon chipotle chili powder
- 28 oz crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup canned pumpkin
- 12 oz cubed butternut squash
- 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
